Hello darlings… How was your weekend? I had a great and fun filled weekend and that’s because I got to attend the gtb fashion weekend. If you are following me on Instagram (callmethonia), you’ll know that I was kind of down that I missed the Lagos fashion week because of work and when I heard that Gtb was having a fashion weekend I knew i wasn’t going to miss it.
It was a two day event and typical Thonia I attended only on Saturday and that’s because my girls (Praise and Sandra) were only attending that Saturday and as you know if you want to have fun at any fashion event, you’ll need a buddy to go with.
Planning to go to an event is one thing and making up your mind for what to wear is another. I kept on procrastinating on choosing what to wear to the event till a day before. I Just knew that I wasn’t going to shop for any outfit and that I’ll match pieces from my wardrobe and finally I decided to pair my hoola cape that I’ve worn Here.
I decided to style the hoola cape differently unlike how I wore it as an off shoulder in the previous post. Styling it this way was a very big risk for me because I’m so conscious about my arms and I hardly wear clothes that would show my arms completely. I decided to pair the cape with brown pants that I thrifted long time ago and my cute white jellies.
The great thing about being a fashion blogger is how you can style an outfit in so many ways and still be on fleek. You don’t have to spend so much to be fashionable and with the way things are in the country one needs to be conscious about spending money. One way to spend less is to pick out pieces from your wardrobe and pair with other pieces.
I’m Glad I didn’t spend on buying new clothes to attend the fashion show and I got so many positive feedback from people that attended saying they loved my cape and it was so much fun seeing designs from Lanre Dasilva, Julien Macdonald and others on the runway. I also got to know that the show was more organized than Lagos fashion week in terms of keeping to time and arrangement.
P.S Why do people think it’s only fashion bloggers that tend to dress to events in certain ways? I’m saying this because when like three people approached me and I told them I was a blogger, they always use the line ” Yes you look like one” Lol.
What are your thoughts on the oufit? Do we bloggers really have a unique blogger face? Please drop your comments in the comment section, I’ll love to hear from you.
Have a great week!
