Hello darlings…How have you been? I’m so sorry I’ve been away from the blog for so long, I can assure you it’s not intentional because a lot has been happening from work to my business and so many things. It’s so good to be back because I’ve missed you guys a lot!
So in addition to my very crazy schedule, I recently became the fashion and lifestyle editor of an amazing new brand “Magic of Lagos” (Pretty please follow us on Instagram and twitter @magicoflagos) and it’s a visual magazine that aims at rebranding Lagos and focuses on Art, Fashion, Culture and lifestyle. We had a meeting and interview at The backyard in Lagos and I was kind of confused on what to wear and I finally decided to wear a monochrome shift dress that is a gift from my aunty.
Styling a monochrome shift dress is an easy, high-end approach to getting dressed that can be formal or laid-back depending on what you want. I didn’t want to look very seriously dressed but I still wanted to be business ready and to be taken seriously.
The best part of wearing monochrome whether it’s a dress or top is that there are no rules. The colour isn’t restricted to the season we are in so what that basically means is that whether we are in summer or spring, you can still slay in it.
I decided to style the shift dress with white sneakers and this very cute bag that was sent to me from Jumia. You could style the shift dress with a pair of heels or sandals depending on the occasion. You could also use accessories to make the outfit more dressy. The simplicity of monochrome makes it really classy and chic to style.
What are your thoughts on monochrome shift dresses? How will you style the dress?!.
P.S I finally ticked off two things off my list in July!!Guess what?! I dropped hints on my Instagram! If you know kindly drop in the comment section and I’ll let you know if you’re correct.
Thank you guys for stopping by and have an amazing week!

I admire shift dresses from a distance as I’m not sure they’ll fit my body type. I love how you styled yours and how the outfit matches the background. Congrats on your added responsibility too ( The Fashion & LIfestyle Editor job!) Biko! Where’s “The Backyard” at? Plus can people just walk in to take pictures? The wall art is really cool.
