How To Get Motivated And Crush Your 2020 Goals

Happy New Year Thonia Bankz Fam (we should actually come up with a cute and better name this year for my fab online family). I’m so excited for my first post this year and super excited that we all made it to 2020.

The New Year comes with a lot of excitement, expectations, goals and ”ginger” to be successful but you’ll realize that by the second week, you’re already over it and just living your life without any direction.

I don’t know about you but it’s super hard to be constantly motivated all year and to bounce back to reality when things don’t go as planned.

It is very important to stay motivated and below are 4 practical ways to do so:

  • Think Positive: Happiness is something that we all strive for. While it’s nearly impossible to get rid of negative thoughts, people and situations altogether (we’ll always have good and bad days), we can choose to strip away the parts our life that bring us down and instead refocus that energy towards being the best versions of ourselves. Listen to motivational speeches or music and surround yourself with positive and supportive people.
  • Have a clear goal/ vision: A vision is a picture or idea that you have of yourself, your business, or anything that is going to happen. A vision that is clear will open your mind to the endless possibilities of the future. If you say you want to be a millionaire this year then you have to come up with ways to achieve that.
  • Reward yourself: It is very important to reward yourself when you have crushed some of your goals whether big or small. I also believe that framing something mentally as a reward can help reinforce good habits and motivate you to do more and achieve your other set goals in the year. I had the toughest 2019 but I saved and made sure I took a major trip (Dubai) because in as much as it wasn’t the best year I still worked hard and deserved all the pampering and enjoyment.
  • Be committed to your goals: Setting goals isn’t a “one and done” sort of deal. You need to be committed and revisit your goals frequently. It might not actually be on a daily basis, but it should be something that you make a regular habit. Are there things you are doing right or wrong? Evaluate these things and adjust your modes of working accordingly.

It is also very important to maintain a very healthy lifestyle because if you do not have good health, you do not have wealth. Drink enough water, rest when you are tired, sleep and take care of your body and mind.
